Detailed Storytelling
This residential project was executed in collaboration with P&D Associates, with a clear brief to develop custom furniture that fits the architectural character of the home. The execution spanned 60 days, covering core areas of the house across living, dining, and bedroom spaces.
The storytelling for this project is currently pending and will be updated as soon as the narrative is provided. Meanwhile, the furniture solutions delivered were true to the site context and the design sensibility established by the architectural team.
The project involved complete living and dining room furniture for the Amrish Patel residence in Ankleshwar. The highlight of the execution was the thoughtful combination of visual elegance and technical complexity in both seating and accent pieces.
Scope of Work
- Living room: Accent chairs and sofas
- Dining area: Dining table and a set of modular dining chairs
Design & Engineering Highlights
- The dining chairs were developed with a modular approach where the seat is fixed into a unique chair frame. This frame was designed from scratch, incorporating precision joinery and topped with a brass cap detail.
- The living room accent chairs featured a hybrid internal structure — combining wooden rods inside steel pipes to form a durable, load-bearing skeleton. These were then clad with hand-finished wooden planks and adorned with ornamental brass accents.
- Both the seat and backrest of these chairs were modular components, designed to be interchangeable without disturbing the aesthetic or functional layout.
This project is a clear example of how material innovation and engineered detailing can come together to elevate everyday furniture into something sculptural and refined. Despite the technical challenges, all elements were fabricated and delivered within 60 days.
