Furniture Fashioned For The Home
Project: Tejas Maru Residence — Custom Furniture Execution
Location: Jamnagar
Commissioned by: Design Paradigm / Indoors, Surat (Led by Darshan Desai & Pragnesh Desai)
Completion Year: 2021
Execution Timeline: 75 Days
"This project was not just a delivery — it was a relationship built on curiosity, mutual respect, and technical collaboration."
The journey began in 2021 when Tejas Maru personally visited our small Baroda office, referred by a local furnishings retailer in Jamnagar. With only one room, a TV screen, and about 30 products to display, we welcomed both Tejas and designer Darshan Desai who drove all the way from Surat. What began as an uncertain interaction gradually turned into a serious design conversation, eventually resulting in this wonderful opportunity.
Scope of Work:
- All loose furniture excluding beds, nightstands, and living room sofas (which were imported)
- Custom bookshelves
- Modular coffee tables
- Dining table with mirror finish base
- Living room console table with HDHMR core and Acrylic PU + Glass top finish
Special Highlights & Craftsmanship:
- A cantilever-style bookshelf near the staircase — engineered to have wooden planks fixed on two ends with one stepped-down shelf suspended on a metal bracket.
- Inverted tetrahedron-style modular coffee table with drawer storage.
- Dining table base finished to a degree where one could literally see their reflection.
- Living room console table material changed mid-process from wood to HDHMR for better PU application and precision, topped with glass.
Designer Involvement:
Darshan Desai and Pragnesh Desai were deeply involved in every detail — regularly reviewing drawings and working with our team like production collaborators rather than just clients. Their commitment to design integrity was evident throughout. In fact, even non-furniture elements like a massive solid-stone bed back panel (procured from Rajasthan and lifted to the room by crane) were executed with extraordinary effort, driven by their vision.
"This project marked a turning point — a reminder that sometimes all it takes is a walk-in client, a few honest conversations, and mutual passion to build something long-lasting and meaningful."
