The Umanath Shetty residence in Dahisar, Mumbai, marked the continuation of a decade-long design and execution legacy between P&D Associates and the Shetty family. This was the sixth or seventh home we were involved in for the extended family, and our collaboration began as early as the second project Devang Patel designed for them. Their consistent trust and recurring business speak volumes about the relationship built over time.
For this particular home — a 4BHK converted into a spacious 3BHK — our team was entrusted with complete responsibility for site execution. The mandate was extensive and integrated across every zone of the home.
Scope of Work
- Full-scale wall panelling in every room, including carpentry-based partitions
- Integrated wardrobes, flush-fit to structural dimensions of the existing apartment
- Modular kitchen – a key highlight of the project
- All beds and loose furniture across bedrooms and living room
- Hidden doors designed into panel systems
- Living room furniture including signature mirrors, lamps, and rugs
- A unique, elliptically shaped freestanding crockery cabinet
- Acrylic PU finishes over high-density, high-moisture resistant boards
Special Highlights
- The entire home was executed with a soft white décor palette, amplified by immaculate marble flooring that added brightness and scale
- Synchronous two-door sliding mechanism separating the kitchen from the rest of the home added both function and elegance
- The modular kitchen stood out with its efficient layout, detailing, and finish quality
- Custom mirrors, carpets, and lighting further elevated the interiors
This residence stands as a testament to repeat collaboration, mutual respect, and the trust required to take full ownership of a site. The result is a calm, light-filled home that respects architectural vision while celebrating bespoke craftsmanship and integrated detailing throughout.
