Detailed Storytelling
This project holds emotional significance as it marks one of the earliest breakthrough moments for A Wooden Story in the project space. In those initial days, gaining trust as a small company was difficult — convincing someone to believe in your capabilities and place an order took weeks. But what stood out, even then, was our inclination toward unique, custom, and challenging furniture — and the trust of those early clients who believed in us.
Scope of Work
- A 2/3-seater sofa and coffee table for the living room
- A dining bench and three dining chairs for the ground floor dining area
- A hand-carved solid wood sofa for the daughter’s bedroom
Special Highlights
- The hand-carved sofa delivered a finish and form that gave the feel of gold at the price of brass. It took 25 working days of intense craftsmanship to complete this piece.
- The dining chairs, though appearing simple, were crafted from spotless oakwood — which at the time was both rare and expensive in India.
- Our team visited Gandhidham to handpick timber, going through dozens of planks and ultimately accepting 40–50% wastage to maintain the purity of grain and appearance.
- Despite the small scale, the effort, attention, and human involvement in this project laid the foundation for the brand’s values and reputation today.
Looking back, the project may seem minor in volume, but it was monumental in learning and identity. It’s the kind of beginning where stories are written — of patience, craftsmanship, and the belief that quality, no matter the scale, will always be remembered.
